Terms of Service

Overview

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Northwood Psychology Courses, including all content, features, and services we provide (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

Use of Service

You agree to use the courses for lawful purposes and not to misuse or attempt to disrupt the platform.

  • Access is granted only as permitted by these Terms and applicable laws.
  • Do not attempt to circumvent access controls, copy-protection, or rate limits.
  • Do not reverse engineer, probe, or scan systems for vulnerabilities.

Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining account security and notifying us of any unauthorized access.

  • Provide accurate and up-to-date registration information.
  • Safeguard your credentials and limit access to authorized persons only.
  • Promptly inform us if you suspect compromise of your account.

Eligibility

You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction or have verified consent from a parent or legal guardian to use the Service.

Payments & Access

Payments provide access to course content as described in the catalog. Taxes may apply according to your location.

  • Fees are displayed at checkout and are due at the time of purchase.
  • We may use third-party payment processors; your use of them may be subject to their terms.
  • Access duration and scope are specified on the course page at the time of purchase.

Refunds & Cancellations

Unless stated otherwise on the specific course page, refunds are available within 14 days of purchase if you have consumed less than 20% of the course content.

  • To request a refund, contact support with your order details and reason for the request.
  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method where feasible.
  • We reserve the right to decline or prorate refunds in cases of policy misuse.

Intellectual Property

Course materials are owned by Northwood or its licensors. You receive a personal, non‑transferable license to use them.

  • You may view, stream, and download materials where explicitly enabled for your personal, non-commercial use.
  • You may not reproduce, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works without prior written consent.
  • All trademarks, logos, and service marks are the property of their respective owners.

User Content & Feedback

If you submit comments, assignments, or other content, you grant us a worldwide, non‑exclusive, royalty‑free license to use, display, reproduce, and create derivative works solely for operating and improving the Service.

  • Do not post content that infringes rights, violates law, or contains confidential information you do not own.
  • We may moderate, remove, or refuse content that violates these Terms.
  • Feedback you provide may be used without obligation to compensate you.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

  • Harassment, hate speech, or abusive behavior toward instructors or other learners.
  • Uploading malware, spyware, or other harmful code.
  • Automated scraping, bulk downloading, or mirroring course libraries.
  • Impersonating another person or misrepresenting your affiliation.
  • Interfering with or disrupting the integrity or performance of the Service.

Third‑Party Services

The Service may integrate or link to third‑party services. We are not responsible for their content, terms, or privacy practices. Your use of third‑party services is at your own risk and may be governed by separate terms.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these Terms, suspected fraud, or legal/regulatory reasons. You may stop using the Service at any time.

  • Upon termination, licenses granted to you will cease, except where retention is required by law.
  • We may retain minimal account records to comply with legal obligations.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Northwood and its affiliates, officers, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

In all cases, the aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid to us for access to the specific course giving rise to the claim in the twelve (12) months preceding the event.

Courses are for educational purposes and not a substitute for professional diagnosis or therapy.

  • The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • We do not guarantee specific outcomes, certification, or job placement.
  • Access may be interrupted for maintenance, updates, or factors beyond our control.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Northwood and its affiliates harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your content, or your misuse of the Service.

Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to their jurisdiction and venue.

Before filing a claim, you agree to attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us. If not resolved within 30 days, either party may pursue legal remedies.

Changes to the Service or Terms

We may modify the Service or these Terms at any time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the effective date or by providing notice through the Service. Your continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Electronic Communications

By using the Service, you consent to receive communications from us electronically, including emails and in‑product messages. Notices will be deemed delivered when sent to the email associated with your account or posted within the Service.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with any policies referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and Northwood regarding the Service and supersede any prior or contemporaneous agreements on the same subject matter.
